Failed Logins
The Failed Logins node lists all failed login attempts made against
the server. Failed logins can
originate from a person logging in to SQL Server or an
application attempting to establish a connection. If you experience a suspicious sudden surge in
login attempts, consider the possibility of a security attack. The
Failed Logins node provides the following information:
- Time: Indicates the date and time when the login attempt
occurred.
- Client Computer: Computer name from
which the login attempt originated.
- Login: Login name of the user or application behind the
attempted login.
- Description: Information about the login including error
message and IP address.
